宮原眼科

一聽到「宮原眼科」直覺反應就是個眼科診所或醫院，沒錯！它曾是個眼科醫院，是在日據時代的宮原武熊醫生所開設的，曾經也是台中的衛生院，也曾像個廢墟般的存在，後來由知名鳳梨酥業者買下此建築，並將此具有歷史的建築物做了整修後重新開張，以宮原眼科的店名銷售餐飲。

雖然重新整修，但仍保留了許多舊建築的原物件，斑駁的紅磚牆及舊牌樓的雕刻，入口處可以看到鑲在大理石地上的「宮原眼科1927」，是宮原武熊於1927年創辦的，外觀建築保留著紅磚拱廊，而上方則加上現代時尚感的玻璃，一整個衝突美，實在會讓人看到的當下不禁讚嘆一番。不過，要是進入了宮原眼科裡，更是驚豔了，裡面像是走進電影哈利波特的霍爾華茲城堡之中，挑高的建築，一排排的櫃子像圖書館分門別類的標示，櫃子裡放的是一本本的書籍，但其實是書籍外觀的包裝盒，裡頭都是日出的糕餅食品，這番巧思很值得您親臨現場。

宮原眼科最有名的莫過於冰淇淋、宮原珍珠奶茶、以及日出集團的一些周邊伴手禮，其中很火紅的冰淇淋，不管是平日還是假日，總要排上20分鐘以上，長長的排隊人潮，都只為了吃一碗日出自行研發的冰淇淋，口味多達40種以上，還有鳳梨酥、乳酪蛋糕等配料可以選擇，與市面上的冰店很不一樣，獨樹一格的冰品，讓遊客排再久也願意。

不容錯過的還有宮原珍珠奶茶，也都是由日出集團自行研發，口味獨特而且茶香味濃厚，人手一杯、人手一碗，古老建築的翻新，帶來無限商機，伴手禮更是不可少，最有名的日出鳳梨酥、乳酪蛋糕等在這裡也買的到，也有巧克力磚等高檔伴手禮可供選擇，2樓的餐廳是需要預約才能上去的，所以想要一探宮原眼科的神秘面紗，請盡早預約，提早去排隊喔!

中台禪寺

位於埔里鎮中台山的中心點，四周山巒如花瓣環繞；住持惟覺老和尚年少時接觸佛法，30歲剃度出家，德行高深，吸引皈依弟子及供養居士前來求教禪法，因此名氣隨之高潮。禪寺主建物預定在西元2000年完工，由建築名師李祖原設計；中台禪寺的佛教歷史文物館擁有豐富的佛教收藏品，包含距今1500年前北周的石雕釋迦如來、此外，四處移植而來的老樹也是中台禪寺的特殊景觀，這些原本都是因開路築屋，有著砍代命運，因緣際會到中台禪時得以延續生命，故每顆樹的背後都有段佛緣佳話。

中台禪寺位於南投縣的埔里，新建工程自西元1990年開始規劃，歷時十年，西元2001年宣告竣工，是結合中西建築元素，由著名建築師李祖原先生所設計。成為眾多佛教信眾的信仰中心，慕名而來的遊客和信眾絡繹不絕。

中台禪寺主體建築以石材為主，象徵修行的堅固和永恆不變。由側面看主體建築，彷彿是一位在青山中禪坐的行者，正面外觀則像蓄勢待發的噴射機，象徵禪宗「頓悟自心，直了成佛」的無上心法，設計兼具時代開創新意與綿長的禪宗古意。

中台禪寺的開山方丈為上惟下覺老和尚，是四川省營山縣人，三十歲時剃披出家、受戒。先後到過宜蘭吉祥寺、新竹圓明寺、香港大嶼山等地閉關。西元1971年代末期從香港返回台灣，繼續他的清修生涯。逐漸地，老和尚的名聲一天天的傳播開來，到今日親炙學人逾數十萬人。
